Sittingbourne Hockey Club are incredibly proud to announce that both of our performance goalkeepers Helen Rose and Darren Marchant are heading to the prestigious Masters Indoor World Cup! A fantastic achievement, and one that makes us very proud to have them as part of our club.

Helen Rose – Women's 1s GK

A huge congratulations to Helen Rose, who has been selected for England Women's Over 45s Hockey Team at the Masters Indoor World Cup.

Helen joined us this season and her commitment, consistency and high-performance standards have been clear for everyone to see week in, week out. To earn an England call-up at this level is a phenomenal achievement and we couldn’t be prouder. She’s fast becoming a club legend her enthusiasm and commitment is an inspiration across the women’s section and a brilliant role model for our junior keepers coming through the ranks.

Darren Marchant – Men's 1s GK

Massive congratulations also go to Darren Marchant who has been selected for the Wales Men's Over 40s Hockey Team at the Masters Indoor World Cup as well as the outdoor team. Darren has been with us for a number of seasons now and his dedication to his craft, relentless work ethic and leadership around the club make this selection thoroughly deserved. Pulling on the Welsh shirt at a World Cup is an incredible honour — and we’ll all be cheering him on!

Having two performance goalkeepers heading to a World Cup is no coincidence.

A big shout out must go to our Head Goalkeeper Coach, Keir Starley, whose energy, top-tier coaching and wealth of knowledge has been instrumental in raising standards across the club for all our goalkeepers. Keir owns Hero Goalie co which is one of the leading goalkeeping brands in the United Kingdom delivering a wide range top level coaching services across the country.

Keir has helped drive our goalkeeping unit forward, creating a high-performance environment that is pushing SHC closer and closer to becoming a true top-tier club. The progress we’re seeing - from juniors through to performance - speaks volumes.

Hello and welcome to Sittingbourne Hockey Club; the number one hockey club in Sittingbourne and Swale.

We are a Kent-based hockey club in the Borough of Swale currently running 5 senior men's teams and 3 senior women's teams with multiple youth teams as part of our ever growing Youth Academy.

We work closely within our community providing various sessions for all ages and abilities via our Hockey 4 All initiative.

Year on year we are seeing huge expansion - come and be part of it. Our facilities are first class with pitch-side clubhouse and full AI video analysis.
