Sittingourne HC would like to congratulate Lewis on his hockey achievements this year. We look forward to watching you grow and develop for many seasons to come. You should be proud of your success and the progress you have made. #onwards #thebourne #kenthockey

Becca Cooper-Helene: "Lewis has been with SHC since he was about 6 years old, he's now 14. He started in minis with Annette. He was a child who severely lacked confidence in his abilities and being part of a team was alien to him. Annette and Zoe saw his potential and nurtured him, alongside providing him with the basic skills he needed to progress.

After a few turbulent years with personal issues he joined Juniors with Iain. Iain was aware of Lewis' difficulties but provided him with a fun, safe, hard working environment. Lewis was encouraged to come out of his comfort zone, mix with others in the team and push himself physically.

Lewis was put forward for the Junior Development Centre in Swale and Medway and has since completed four. From there SHC sponsored him this season, allowing him to progress further. Thanks to the support, faith, nurture and coaching, Lewis trialled for Tier 2 Kent Hockey and was selected for the Under 14s Kent Hockey Team.

He played his first matches for Kent March 2022. SHC gave him the drive and confidence to further his Hockey career. As a club, they have welcomed Lewis and us, his whole family, with open arms! Thank you".
