Sittingbourne HC women's 1st XI player Claire Hales represented South East at the England Over 50s Masters Championships this weekend (14 and 15 May 2022).

The tournament was held at the Nottingham Hockey Centre, where the eight regions of England competed in two pools. The South East team was comprised of players from Kent, Surrey and Sussex.

Pool B - London, Midlands, Yorkshire & North East and South East.

South East Results:

South East 2-1 Midlands

London 2-2 South East

Finishing second in their Pool, South East faced South Central and the winner would head to the gold medal match. Sadly, Claire and her team were not able to defeat South Central and lost 0-2. In the other semi final, North West took on Yorkshire & North East. North West were victorious and moved on to the final against South Central.

In the bronze medal match, Yorkshire & North East faced a revitalised South East team. South East ran away with the victory, scoring 3 goals to 1.
