WALKING HOCKEY THRIVES IN SWALE AS SHC DRIVES PARTICIPATION

Updated: Apr 15, 2022

Walking Hockey is an exciting, low impact sport. Allowing new players and past players a chance to enjoys the spoils of hockey.

Sittingbourne Hockey Club, host walking hockey every Thursday from 7 to 8. These sessions are coached by one of our qualified coaching team.

Walking Hockey is a great way to take part in one of England’s prestigious sports, while having a laugh and developing new or rediscovering past skills and knowledge.

A message from our Chair, Ed Carter

"SHC were keen to expand our presence in the community and were aware of the success of Walking Football. We couldn't be happier with the wide spectrum of players now attending after just six months. From enjoying the sessions attended so far, they have all asked to continue through the summer months. With a small grant (from Swale Borough Council) to get this going, we now have an age range of 7 - 70. Following their experience at our Walking Hockey Session, three players have started playing Saturday League hockey as well. It's open to all and a great for your mental health as well as fitness"

Our club house is open for a refreshing drink, a good old yarn and maybe a game of pool after the session.

Don’t be shy, get in touch with us today or be spontaneous and turn up on the night.
