SITTINGBOURNE HC CLAIM TOP PRIZE SWALE COMMUNITY LEISURE VISION AWARDS




Sittingbourne Hockey Club attended the Swale Community Leisure Vision Awards on Wednesday 6th December at the Appleyard, Sittingbourne.


The categories for the night were:

Sports Award - presented to an organisation, group or person who has shown outstanding commitment to sport in the local community.


Leisure Award - presented to an individual who is recognised for their hard work within their role.


Heath Award - presented to a group or individual who has contributed to improving health within the local community.


Education Award - celebrating school sport; from outstanding performances, exceptional dedication and going above and beyond to ensure physical activity, sport and PE is an important part of school life for pupils.


The Culture/Community Award - this award honours individuals who have made a significant contribution to their local area by promoting inclusivity, improving the local environment, and expanding the reach of sport, leisure, health, education and culture within the community.   


The Tony Gribble Award. This award is presented to one of our previous category winners as our overall outstanding achievement award.


We are pleased to announce that Sittingbourne HC have won two of the above awards.


SHC won The Culture/Community Award and we won the overall award - the Tony Gribble Award. Here is what Swale Community Leisure had to say: “The Sittingbourne Hockey Club is a shining example of how a community can come together to promote health and well-being through sport. By fostering a sense of community and belonging, they have not only improved the physical health of others but also their mental health and wellbeing.”
