SENIOR HOCKEY MID SEASON REPORT - A 7 PART SERIES - PART 4, THE MENS 3RD XI

stephenmina

Heading into the mid-season break, we take a look at the first half of the season of our senior teams. Today we delve into the Men's 3rd XI.

Season: 2022/2023

League: South East Hockey - Division 3 Invicta

Position: 10th

Wins: 2

Draws: 4

Losses: 4

Points: 10

Craig Mulder - Captain - Men's 3rd XI

The first half of the season has been a challenging one for the 3rd XI. We have had an influx of new young players into the team and a change of captaincy after just a couple of games.

The season was slow to get started with 10 goals conceded in the first 2 games. However, a draw in the next game was followed by the team's best performance of the season to date and another point away to Sutton Valance. This was a game in which the team thoroughly deserved all 3 points.

Now we are at the halfway stage of the season, Sittingbourne 3's find themselves 10th, having played 10, winning 2 and drawing 4. With 6 points separating 4th and 10th. The team has it all to play for in the new year and I am sure we willt come back from the Christmas break with renewed vigour and confidence.
