Sittingbourne Hockey Club (SHC) would like to announce it is officially providing free hockey for anyone who is eligible to play U16 hockey. Firstly, we would like to thank our primary sponsor The Kent Nirvana Group. Nathan and his team, at The Kent Nirvana Group, have played an extensive part in enabling the club to offer free hockey to anyone under the age of 16. Here is what Nathan has to say;
When we heard of Sittingbourne Hockey clubs’ ambitious development program to improve, grow and support the community through youth sport in an area where money is not always available or forthcoming, We felt it was a fantastic opportunity to make a difference in the community that we provide care and support to vulnerable children and young adults in.
We recognize the impacts of the cost-of-living crisis on society as a whole and take careful consideration to the detrimental impacts on mental health, particularly on those in their adolescents’ years.
At The Kent Nirvana group we empower vulnerable children and young adults to make changes in their lives, to find a place of peaceful happiness in the world. We believe to do this we need to support each child and young adults’ growth and resilience. We recognize the positive impacts that a sports community can have on young people’s physical and social development.
Our organisational values are linked to those of Sittingbourne Hockey Clubs community. We believe by working in partnership will provide them the opportunity to grow on these values and provide nurture and innovation to develop resilience in children and young people.
We will support a versatile approach which demonstrate accountability and equal opportunities to all in our diverse community.
We are very excited to be work in partnership with Sittingbourne Hockey Club to support them financially in growing their “hockey 4 Swale, hockey 4 all” initiative and support their ambition to make opportunities for all children and young people in our community.
We look forward to following the program closely and watching the space created in the community by Sittingbourne hockey club for children and young people to thrive and fulfill their potential without significant financial impacts being placed on families.

Whether you’re 8 or 80, we would love to see you all there and witness this historic chapter in our club's history and legacy. You'll be able to participate in our small-sided hockey matches and catch up with new and old friends in the club house.
If you would like to get involved through coaching, umpiring, donating or simply helping run the bar and the kitchen in the club house, please do not hesitate to contact the club.
